Cohoes- Carol L. McDonald passed away peacefully, on July 7, 2022. Carol was born on Staten Island, New York and was the daughter of the late, Donald and Barbara Loveland. Carol moved to Delmar NY., in her early teens, and was a graduate of Bethlehem Central High School. She also briefly attended Siena College. Carol was a homemaker and stay at home Mom, while her children were young. She returned to the work force at NYS, OGS. She retired in 1998, after 20 plus years. Mom loved gardening, interior design, traveling and most of all, spending time with her grandchildren. On any given day of the week, she could be found on area sports fields, various school auditoriums or just at one of her children’s house’s, watching one or more of her grandkids.
Carol is survived by her children, Tom (Debbie) McDonald, Barbara Lynn (Paul) Oakley, Lisa (Stephen) Mahan, Diane (Rob) Noble, Christopher (Jennifer) McDonald, Sondra (George Robataille- fiancé) McDonald Stern; her grandchildren, Matthew (Trisha) McDonald, Thomas (Lindsay) McDonald II, Michael (Amy) McDonald, Jillian (Alex) Bertot, Elizabeth Oakley, Madeleine (Kyle) Canastra, Alexandra (Troy) Severson, Courtney Mahan, Nicole Mahan, Connor ( Julia- fiancé) Mahan, Michael Guillerm, Lindsay (Corey) Klafehn, Christopher Guillerm, Jake McDonald, Christopher McDonald, Holden Stern & Hunter Stern; her great grandchildren, Cailin & Reagan McDonald, Grace & Thomas McDonald III, Hudson & Graham McDonald, Landen & Logan Bertot, Robin, Oakley & Kaylynn Canastra, EJ & Miles Mahan, Kinsley, Palmer, Granger & Leighton Severson, Hannah & Harper Klafehn. Carol is also survived by her brothers, Robert (Cathy) & Bruce (Rosemary) Loveland, her children’s father, Alex McDonald, Jr. as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends. She was predeceased by her brother, Donald, her fiancé, Jim Jackman, son-in-law Fred Stern and sister-in-law, Lucille Loveland.
The family would like to thank the staff at Marjorie Doyle-Rockwell Center and Eddy Village Green (Bldg. 2 &21) for their compassionate care over the years. It didn’t go unnoticed. We’d also like to thank John Cannon, and his staff at Cannon Funeral Home for the professional and caring service we received.
