COLONIE- William Anson Rogan, aka Will, WARrior, or W.A.R., age 2, earned his angel wings on Wednesday, November 7, 2018 and is safe in Heaven after a valiant and heroic fight with congenital heart disease (CHD), specifically HLHS. He was born on July 15, 2016, in Boston, MA, where he was lovingly accepted as a New York Yankees fan.
Will loved the color purple, his lovies, playing peek-a-boo, smiling with a big cheese face, Bubble Guppies and saying “haha.” Will was proud to be an honorary member of the Colonie Village Fire Company. His courage and bravery touched the lives of anyone who knew him or of him and his community. His contagious smile could light up a room and his legacy will live on forever.
Above all else, Will loved his family. His favorite part of the day was snuggling and singing with his mom. He loved “scaring” his dad, playing peek-a-boo with his “Papa”, sticking his tongue out to “Ne-Ne” and being held by “Jamma.” Reese loved mimicking the nurses care to “Brother” by listening to his heart, giving him chest PT and telling him “no whining.”
William is the cherished son of Justin and Megan (Sim) Rogan. Will is survived by his big sister, Reese; his furry companion Louie; maternal grandparents, Ed and Sue Sim; paternal grandmother, Patricia Wademan; maternal great grandfather, William Baumann; Godmothers, Courtney Sim and Dawn Decker, aunts and uncles, Brian Sim, Lindsey Hunter, and Rich Rogan.
William’s family would like to thank and acknowledge Dr. Caitrin Navarro and School House Road Pediatrics, Dr. Wayne Tworetzky and Dr. Luis Quinonez of Boston Children’s Hospital, entire cardiac ICU of BCH, Dr. Joanne Porter, his homecare nurses and the members of the Colonie Village Fire Company for their remarkable care and support.
