William A. Carey

COLONIE - Carey, William A. passed away peacefully on Monday, November 6, 2023. Bill was born and raised in Albany later moving to Colonie. Bill served in the Navy and later worked for the Latham Water District for 36 years. Bill was the beloved husband of 64 years to Ruth Carey “Forever Together”. He will be forever remembered by his devoted children, Bill Carey, Cheryl (Michael) Ruede, Robyn (Dennis) Freese and Michael Carey (Barbara Huntsberry). His loving grandchildren, Lance Carey, Lance, Jodi, Nicole and Scott Endres, Kristy Goergen and Brendan and Matthew Carey, Courtney, Casey and Michael Ruede; along with 17 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild, and countless other friends and family who were blessed to know him. Bill loved spending time with his family, attending his grandchildren's sporting events, watching the Yankee games, camping in his motor home and most of all, sharing his love with all that had the pleasure of knowing him. Bill touched the lives of many people with his smile and maintained his trademark sense of caring and generosity all the way to the end. Bill's family would like to thank the staff of Community Hospice of Albany for all of the care, support and kindness they gave to him during his illness. Services will be private and arranged by Cannon Funeral Home, 2020 Central Ave., Colonie. Interment will be at Our Lady of Angels Cemetery, Colonie.
