COLONIE – Virginia “Babe” H. Rubino, 88, of Colonie, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 4, 2024 at her residence, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born in Brooklyn and was the daughter of the late John and Elsie Bambauer. Virginia was predeceased by her husband Andrew and her son Rocky.
She was a talented Merrow Sewing machine operator for several Knitting Mills in New York City. Virginia was a extraordinary cook and fed everyone she knew. Every Sunday and all holidays were her staple feasts for all. Virginia was a devout catholic with a special devotion to the Blessed Mother.
She is the cherished mother of Lisa (Joe) Furlano and Ginny (Bob) Domenici. Virginia is the loving Gram of Audrey (Dominic) Scialdone, Megan (Brian) Serowick, Rob (Genni) Domenici, Mary (Frank) DeGraw, Mikey (Cait) Bourke and Nick Domenici. She is the sister of Joan Stuhler. Virginia is also survived by 10 (soon to be 11) great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Virginia’s family on Wednesday from 4 to 7 pm at Cannon Funeral Home, 2020 Central Ave., Colonie. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 11:00 am at St. Pius X Church, Loudonville. Interment will follow at Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery.
