Victoria F. Mantello

Wynantskill – Victoria F. Marro Mantello, 89, passed away peacefully on Sunday October 14, 2018 at her residence with her daughters at her bedside.  She was born in Troy and was the daughter of the late Dominick and Frances Marro. Vicki was predeceased by her husband Nicholas Mantello and her son in law Ricky Vielkind.

She had worked as a floor manager at Standard Manufacturing for several years. Vicki and her husband were former caretakers at the Italian Community Center in Troy. She was the Past President of the ICC Woman’s Auxiliary. Vicki volunteered at the Van Rensselaer Manor, We Care Day and St. Mary’s Church soup kitchen and spaghetti suppers. She was an avid reader and card player. She always put others ahead of herself and made room at her table for another guest.

Vicki is the beloved mother of Donna (David) McClure, Linda (Monty) Montague and Vicki Vielkind (Brett Baker).  She is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Vicki’s family on Thursday morning from 10:00 to 12 noon at Cannon Funeral Home, 2020 Central Ave. Colonie. A prayer service will be held at 12 noon at funeral home. Interment will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Troy.
