Veronica "Ronnie" Scott

COLONIE – Veronica “Ronnie” Scott Dahlem, 81, of Colonie, passed away at home on Friday, July 14, 2023 after a severe battle with COPD.

Ronnie was born in Albany and was the daughter of the late Edward and Bertha Scott. She was a 1959 graduate of Guilderland High School. Ronnie was a Supervisor with the New York State Office of Mental Health for many years. She enjoyed golf, flower gardening, watching the birds, cooking, quilting, bowling, kayaking, and playing pinochle. She is remembered as a gifted hostess, best friend, childhood hero and adventure buddy. Ronnie read Dear Abby every day and a page from Jesus Calling. Ronnie and Herb enjoyed seventeen years as snowbirds in Florida.

Ronnie is survived by her devoted husband, Herb Dahlem, her daughters, Lori (Kenneth) Bowe and Carol Sammons. She is the sister of Michael Scott and Virginia Satalino. Ronnie is the cherished Nana of Kali Cavanagh, Danford, Caitlyn and Hannah Sammons. She is a beloved stepmother and step grandmother.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Ronnie’s family on Wednesday from 4 to 7 pm at Cannon Funeral Home, 2020 Central Ave., Colonie. A prayer service will be offered at 6:30 pm. Interment will be in Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery.
