Todd H. Skaarup

Troy - Todd H. Skaarup, 57, born on October 11, 1966, passed away suddenly on Friday November 10, 2023.

He was the husband for 25 years to his best friend, the love of his life, his wife Darlene (Lanza) Skaarup. He is the son of Norman Skaarup and the late Carol DeWolf. A proud animal rescuer and father to his fur babies Marley, George and Harvey just to name a few. Todd enjoyed being on the greens with his brothers and close friend Tony Lucy and enjoying the company of his great neighbors Manny and Tammy. Todd was the light of so many lives, and the life of every party lighting up every room he entered. Never denying the help of someone in need and making anyone he met feel important. Todd has been employed by Pathways Nursing & Rehab Center as the Environmental Director enjoying 12 years with his Pathways family who he loved and was loved by. He was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan. An advocate for people with addictions as Todd had just celebrated 30 years of alcohol sobriety. Special thank you to Jeff Fisher.

He is the brother of the late Norman Skaarup and Raymond Quintal.  Survived by siblings, Sue (Todd) Papielion, Tracy (Bill) Fitzpatrick, Nelson (Angela) Skaarup, Heath Skaarup, Nicole Skaarup (Jeff). Kelly Skaarup (Jason), Tara Skaarup (Eric), Jacklyn (Jim) Myott, Lance Skaarup, Michelle Skaarup, Lisa Skaarup. Special mention: childhood friend, Alfred Papielion Jr. and acknowledgment Angelica Beckford for her strength. He is the loving uncle of 41 nieces and nephews. He will be remembered and forever cherished because the world was a better place while he was here.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Todd’s family on Friday from 4:30 to 6:30pm at Cannon Funeral Home, 2020 Central Ave., Colonie. A service in Celebration of Todd’s life will be held at 6:30 pm at the funeral home.
