Steven O. Taite

Rexford

Steven Taite, 71, of Rexford and formerly of Colonie, passed away Sunday evening (February 12, 2023) at his home.

Born in Oneonta, NY, he was the son of Edward and Lucy Taite.

Steve was a 1970 graduate of Andrew S. Draper Central School in Schenevus, NY.  Shortly thereafter on August 1, 1970, he married his high school sweetheart, Theresa Dickson. Together, they enjoyed 52 years of marriage.

Together, they moved to the Albany area, where Steve was employed by CDTA as a bus driver and then moved up to supervisor, retiring after 41 years of service.

In retirement, he and Terry would spend the winters in Daytona Beach, Fl area where they enjoyed travelling, sunshine and warmer weather.

Steve enjoyed Nascar, especially Jeff Gordon and Chase Elliott and listening to Rock and Roll Music from the 70’s and 80’s, and gardening (he had a tremendous green thumb).

Besides his parents, he is pre-deceased by two sisters: Patricia Walling and Cindy Amash.

Survivors include his wife Terry Taite; a daughter Traci (Alan) Pennick of Waterford and son Steven Taite of Rexford; grandchildren: Mya Taite, Devin Dickson, Kiley Pennick, and Tate Pennick; and a sister Lois Whitbeck of Round Lake.

Services were private.
