January 14, 1950 — September 28, 2024

Colonie - Stephen “Steve” J. Morgan, 74, passed away Saturday, September 28, 2024 at Albany Medical Center Hospital.

Born in Utica, NY, he was the son of Frank and Dorothy Morgan.

Steve grew up in Utica and was a graduate of Proctor High School. After High School, he served in the US Navy.

Upon discharge from the Navy, he had a career in Retail Management for over 20 years where he was employed by Miles, Thom McCann, and Hanover. During that time he attended Hudson Valley Community College part time. Steve retired after 15 years from the United States Postal Service where he was employed as a mail handler in Albany.

He enjoyed working on his lawn, boating with his son, the NY Yankees, playing scratch off tickets, and spending time with his family.

Besides his parents, he is pre-deceased by a brother Ronald Morgan.

He leaves his loving wife of 51 years, Rosemary (Kayser) Morgan; a son Stephen Morgan II and his fiancée Jen Signore; a daughter Stacey Kontos and her husband John; grandchildren: Devin, Andrew, and Celia Morgan and Alex, Athena, and Vassilios Kontos; brothers Russell “Gus” Morgan and Frank Morgan and sisters: Sandra Barres and Susan Morgan; as well as several nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Service will be held at 6:00pm Friday, October 4 at Cannon Funeral Home, 2020 Central Avenue, Colonie.  Calling hours will be held from 4:00pm to 6:00pm at the funeral home prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to St. Judes Children’s Hospital.
