With great sadness, the family of Stephanie Phillips, 70, announce her passing at Albany
Medical Center on Sunday, June 11, 2023.
Born in Albany, she was the daughter of Thomas J. and Madeleine (Leddy) Murray.
After 37 ½ years of service as an administrative employee for the NYS Office of Temporary and
Disability Services, Stephanie happily kissed work goodbye in 2007.
A few of Steph’s favorite things were cooking gourmet meals, traveling to Cape Cod or curling
up on the couch to read a good book. Above everything else, spending time with the love of her
life, her husband, was Steph’s favorite pastime. She was part of the Bills mafia being a lifetime
fan of the Buffalo Bills (something her Dad instilled in her). As another girl in the Phillips
family, Steph quickly became a true sister, friend and confidant. She always had time for a glass
of wine (all you need is love, a dog and a bottle of wine) and much needed wise advice. Words
cannot express the loss felt by all who knew her.
Besides her parents, her son Joseph A. Scocca passed before her.
Stephanie leaves behind her loving husband of 25 years Harry C. Phillips, Jr.; a son Sean T.
Scocca of Schenectady and many extended family and friends including her faithful companion,
Toby.
Calling hours for Stephanie will be held from 2:00pm to 4:00pm Thursday, June 15 at Cannon
Funeral Home, 2020 Central Avenue, Colonie.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Animal Protective Foundation (APF), 53
