Stephanie L. Ferrill

January 17, 1945 — November 7, 2022

Loudonville - Stephanie Landry Ferrill, 77, of Loudonville transitioned on Monday, November 07 at the Daughters of Sarah Nursing Home from the aftereffects of Progressive-Supranuclear-Palsy (PSP) a devastating neurological illness that robs the body of many vital functions, after a valiant three year plus struggle.

Stephanie was born in Cohoes on January 17, 1945 to her father Lionel Landry and mother Mary Corrigan Landry. She attended St. Anne’s school in Waterford, graduated from Catholic Central High School Class of 1962 in Troy, and obtained a BS in Medical Technology from Damien College (previously called Rosary Hill College) in Buffalo. Her long career was spent as a medical technologist primarily in the Samaritan Hospital Laboratory in Troy specializing in blood analysis. Stephanie took her career in health care with professionalism and great care. She truly believed that her work was saving lives every day.

She is survived by her husband Dave of 37 years of Loudonville, a sister Denise Coppola of Glenville, step-sons Sean of Rockport, MA and Kevin of Phoenix, AZ, five grandchildren Joshua, Olivier, Eric, Marcus, and Isabella, and a niece Angela Coppola of California, a nephew Christopher Coppola of Waterford, several aunts and uncles, and a multitude of friends.

Stephanie greatly enjoyed many years of scrapbooking and has many beautiful collections showing family, activities, and travel. She researched family genealogy and played bridge for many years with a circle of friends, and was an enthusiastic reader primarily of true crime and mystery books, enjoyed travel and hiking. Our trips to Spain and Italy were highlights for her that she was fully able to enjoy before the onset of her illness. She held her faith close to her heart, enjoyed family and friends, was a kind and loving gentle giving soul with a soft sweetness and inviting smile. She believed in the values of relationships, fairness, and compassion.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Stephanie’s family on Friday November 18, from 4 to 7 pm at Cannon Funeral Home, 2020 Central Ave., Colonie.  A memorial service will be offered at 6:00 pm at the funeral home. Funeral services will be Saturday, November 19, 2022 at 10 AM at Christ Our Light Catholic Church in Loudonville where the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Interment will be at St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Waterford.
