Stefanie R. Allen

Albany - Stefanie R. Allen, 59, of Yardboro Avenue passed away Sunday, January 29, 2023 at Albany Medical Center following a short illness.

A lifelong resident of Albany, she was a 1981 graduate of South Colonie High School.

Stefanie was employed as a security monitor at the Albany City Schools for more than 24 years.

She will be remembered as a mentor to many of the students that she came into contact with.

She coached sports including softball, basketball and was also a counselor at the Albany YMCA. As well as a coach for Special Olympics.  In addition, she was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan.  She will be most remembered for her dedication to her family. She loved life and always encouraged others to jump in with both feet to feel accomplished. She was a life member of the Fuller Road Fire Department Ladies’ Auxiliary.

Her parents Frank and Iona Allen and an aunt Elizabeth Richards pre-deceased her.

She leaves a sister Patricia Allen; two brothers George (Jean) Allen and Larry (Shirley) Allen; two half-sisters: Stashia (Doug) Van Deusen and Johnna Martin; Uncles Lou (Judy) Lourinia and Ron Richards; several nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Funeral Services will be held at 10am Friday, February 3 at Cannon Funeral Home, 2020 Central Avenue, Colonie. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in Glenmont.

Calling hours will be held from 4:00pm to 7:00pm Thursday, February 2 at the funeral home.
