LOUDONVILLE – Shirley A. Leonardo, 87, of Loudonville, passed away peacefully on Wednesday September 11, 2024 at her residence, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born in Albany and was the daughter of the late Albert and Agnes Grace. Shirley retired from the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation after twenty five years of service. She was a Life Member and Past President of the Shaker Road Loudonville Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. Shirley enjoyed having coffee with her “Sassy Lassies” from the Fire House. She loved the joy of her cherished grandchildren, Thursday pasta nights and going all out for the holidays. Shirley was an avid New York Yankee fan.

She is the beloved wife of 67 years to Carmen P. Leonardo. Shirley is the devoted mother of David (Debbi) Leonardo and Steven (Patti) Leonardo. She is the loving Nana of Michael (Angie Acierno), Matthew (Becky Vergare), Gregory (Heather), Amanda (Russell Brady) and Shaun (Bailee) Leonardo. Shirley is the sister of the late Albert Grace Jr. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Shirley’s family on Friday from 4 to 7 pm at Cannon Funeral Home, 2020 Central Ave., Colonie. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 9:30am  at St. Pius X Church, Loudonville. Interment will follow at St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands. Memorial contributions may be made to the Hope Club, 1 Penny Lane, Latham, NY 12110 or Community Hospice of Albany, 310 S. Manning Blvd. Albany, NY 12208.
