She was born on January 31, 1927 in Albany, NY, to the late Louis and Anna Schultz Elliott.  She graduated from Albany High School and married the late Richard C. Jensen, Sr. on August 19, 1946.

Shirley was a beloved contributor to and member of the West Albany and Orlando communities.  She was a Cub Scout Den Mother, Vice President and President of the West Albany Elementary School PTA, Secretary of Colonie Central School District PTA Council, EMT, crew chief, and driver of the West Albany Volunteer Fire Department Ambulance Service. Immediately following high school, Shirley worked for the New York Telephone Company and later for the South Colonie Central School District as a bus driver, the New York State Labor Department, and retired from the New York State Social Services.
