Sheila M. Nugent

COLONIE – Sheila M. Nugent, 82, of Colonie, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 11, 2023 at Evergreen Commons Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.

She was born February 6, 1941 to the late William and Elizabeth Breen. Sheila had worked as a teletype operator at the former Ten Eyck Hotel in Albany. She had also worked at Sears & Roebuck and with Albany County. Sheila always enjoyed spending time with her cherished family and friends.

Her best adventure was when she chose to take the ride of her lifetime with young Bill Nugent back in 1958. He was captured by her beautiful smile and they have enjoyed 63 years of blessed marriage.

Sheila is the beloved wife of William J. Nugent. She is the mother of Susan (Thomas) Napierski, Michael (Lei Lei) Nugent and Stephen (Jennifer) Nugent. She is the cherished Nanny of Daniel and Emily Nugent, Sean and Aiden Nugent, Grant Napierski and the late Andrew Napierski. Sheila is the sister-in-law of Patricia Hans, George and Janice Nugent.

Sheila’s family would like to offer their sincere thanks and appreciation to the staff at Evergreen Commons, especially Lola and Mackensie for their kind and compassionate care.

Funeral services will be Tuesday at 12 noon at Cannon Funeral Home, 2020 Central Ave., Colonie. Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Sheila’s family on Tuesday morning from 10 am to 12 noon at the funeral home. Interment will be in Our Lady of Angles Cemetery, Colonie.
