Shania J. Waite

Shania Jesella Waite, 18 years old, of Troy, NY passed away Sunday, December 12, 2021, as the result of a motor vehicle accident.

Shania was born on October 18, 2003, to Joe L. Waite, Jr., and Mary C. Rodriguez. She graduated from Troy High School in 2021. She was currently enrolled to study at Hudson Valley Community College to become an ultrasound technician. She enjoyed reading, swimming, fashion, shopping, and traveling abroad, especially to Nicaragua and the Dominican Republic. She loved spending time with her nieces and nephews and made them a priority. She was patient and always ready to lend a listening ear. Shania was a complete sweetheart with a smile so big and warm it was completely infectious. She was so much fun to be around and loving to everyone she knew. If you were in need Shania was always there to lend a helping hand and a kind word. Generous. Smart. Strong. Beautiful. She will be deeply missed.

She is survived by her parents Joe Waite, Jr., of Albany, Mary Rodriguez (Angel) of Troy, NY, grandmother Gisela Rodriguez, sisters Maurin Alcantara (Curtis Smith) of Raleigh NC, Shardé (Joey) Fisk of Cobleskill, NY, Marla Valladares of Troy, NY, Jayla Waite of Albany, NY, brother Joshua Waite of Albany, NY, nieces and nephews Tayella, Adrina, Heridania, Victoria, Tamia, Joseph Jr., Gianna, Gulianna, Kevin, Serenity, and a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins. She is predeceased by her grandparents Joe Waite Sr. and Diana Brace-Waite.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30am Saturday, December 18, at The Shrine Church of our Lady of the Americas, 273 Central Avenue, Albany. Calling hours will be held from 10:00 am to 11:30 am at the church prior to the service.
