Albany – Sally A. Wagner, 76, passed away on Saturday, September 30, 2017, at St. Peter’s Hospital, surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Halifax County, Virginia on July 20, 1941, she was the daughter of the late James and Lola (Hudson) Dabbs. Sally is survived by her four children, Nicholas Wagner, Lorenzo Wagner, Sheila Winfield and Harry Wagner; 18 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; five sisters, Estelle Edmondson, Lillian Edmondson and Saluda Carrington, all of Clover, VA, Lottie Morton and Mary Dabbs, both of Albany, NY, one brother, Jesse Dabbs of Danville, VA and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents, Sally was predeceased by one sister Flossie Teel and three brothers, Lovelace Dabbs, Chester Dabbs and David Earl Dabbs.
Sally was an active church member her entire life. She enjoyed singing and directing the choir, traveling and knitting. Sally was most proud of her CD released in 2010 entitled “Ready for Change.” She was a kind and generous soul who touched many lives in a positive way and was always willing to help others.
Funeral services will be held at the Bethlehem Baptist Church in Clover, VA on Saturday, October 7, 2017 at 11:00 a.m.
