Ruth J. Benedetto

COLONIE – Ruth J. Benedetto, 87, of Colonie, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 10, 2021 at Daughters of Sarah Nursing Center.  She was born in Albany and was the daughter of the late Curtis and Helen Brown. Ruth was predeceased by her husband John J. Benedetto in 2017.

She was a medical technologist at Bender Laboratory in Albany for many years. She was a life member of the Fuller Rd. Fire Dept. Ladies Auxiliary. She had been an active member of the Pine Grove United Methodist Church.

Ruth is the beloved mother of Curtis N. Benedetto (Diane Berdar) and Peter (Lori) Benedetto. She is the grandmother of Curtis Benedetto Jr. (Sarah Wilson), Holly (Michael) Clancy, Peter (Crystal) Benedetto Jr., Nicholas (Jessica) Benedetto, Kevin Benedetto (Shelby Connors) and Jaret Benedetto. She is the great grandmother of Avery, Adalynn, Conor, Jordan, John and Liam.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Ruth’s family on Sunday from 2:00 to 5:00 pm at Cannon Funeral Home, 2020 Central Ave. Colonie. Face masks are required and social distancing will be observed.  Funeral services will be private. Interment will be at Saratoga National VA Cemetery.
