Roger W. Johnston

WATERFORD – Roger W. Johnston, 75, formerly of Waterford passed away on Monday, January 09, 2023, after a long illness.

He was born in Cohoes and was the son of the late George and Leona Johnston, and grandson of Harold and Mary Jerome Keefe. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Donna Danaher Johnston in 2017.

Roger was employed for many years at the Nashua Corp in Watervliet.  He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying fishing and camping. He was a talented rollerskater and played bocce. Roger was a big fan of the Boston Red Sox, the Green Bay Packers and an occasional cookie.

He is the beloved father of Rosella (Timothy) Elliott, Michael Johnston and Roger Johnston (Laurie Coonrad). Roger is the brother of Carolann (Charles) White. He is the cherished Poppy of Casey (Joe) Trocino, Jessica (Mike) Edmonds, Stephen Johnston, Brandan Temple, Crystal Johnston (Brandon Clark), Taylor, Ashley and Ayden Johnston and the late Albert Morelli. Roger is also survived by several great grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Roger’s family on Thursday from 4 to 7 pm and Friday from 11am to 1 pm at Cannon Funeral Home, 2020 Central Ave. Colonie. Interment will be Monday at 10am in St. John’s Cemetery, Troy.
