Robert G. Engelhardt

October 25, 1929 — February 18, 2025

Albany – Robert G. Engelhardt, of Albany, was born October 25, 1929 to the late William and Mildred Engelhardt in Albany, NY.  He passed away on Tuesday morning after enjoying 95 years with his family.

Bob was very proud of his service in the US Air Force while stationed in New Mexico. His career with Niagara Mohawk spanned 39 years as he rose through the ranks, serving the Troy and Albany area. He often reminisced about the times he spent with his crew on and off the job. Bob was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and the beaches. He was also a member of the Ciccotti Center for over 20 years and was a big fan of the Yankees and anything Snoopy.

Bob married Marjorie E. Irick in 1957 and together they raised four children. He is the devoted father of Marjorie Engelhardt (Mark Hoosier), Barbara Lynch, Donna (Dan) Christian and Rob (Kali) Engelhardt.  Bob is the cherished grandfather of Nick (Shannon) Lynch, Kayla Lynch, Andrew and Brian Christian and Kevin Hoosier. He is the great grandfather of Jackson and Weston. Bob was predeceased by his beloved brother, William Engelhardt (Lucy survives).

Bob was kindhearted and quick witted and always enjoyed a family get together and a good meal. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him but especially by his loving family.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit on Monday from 11 am to 1 pm at Cannon Funeral Home, 2020 Central Ave. Colonie. Interment will be in St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Disabled American Veterans, (dav.org).
