Albany - Rita Mary Good (Cioppa), 78, of Albany, was called home on Friday, December 9, 2022, with her family and beloved dogs by her side. She was born and educated in Albany and retired from a career with IRS at the Leo O’Brien Building,
She was the daughter of Joseph and Erminia Cioppa and predeceased by her son John J. Good and sister Georgianna Verleger (Alicia).
The devoted wife of 49 years to John R, Good, Jr, they were always together. She is survived by son, Donald E. Leonard, Jr. (Amy), daughter, Maria L. Leonard, her grandchildren, Megan Leonard, Erika Leonard, Sean Leonard, and Casey Leonard. Rita is survived by her siblings Gaetano Cioppa (Laurel) and Marylou Mancini (Anthony), as well as many nieces and nephews and in-laws Marilyn Stangle (the late Richard), Betty Nolan (the late Michael), the late Joyce Tolentino (Good).
Rita’s gregarious personality made her loved by many who also called her Mom. She leaves behind this extended family who found a forever home in heart as her children, Kevin Broomall (Lill Ann), Kate Orsino, Vincent Pucciarelli (Kim), LeeAnn Cross, (the late Pete Howard and Ed Sharp) and so many others.
She lived with an open heart and welcomed everyone into her home for so many celebrations and now we are better for having the fondest of memories that we shall forever cherish.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Rita’s family on Sunday, December 18, from 1-3 p.m. at Cannon Funeral Home, 2020 Central Avenue, Colonie.
