Richard J. Naze, 61, of Gurba Drive South passed away Thursday, November 16, 2023.
Born and rasied in Schenectady, NY, he was the son of the late Jerry and Marie (Hurd) Naze.
He was a 1981 graduate of Mont Pleasant High School and then served in the US Army Green Beret Special Forces.
For more than 20 years, he was the district manager for Subway. He was currently employed as a production operator at Specialty Silicone Products (SSP) in Ballston Spa.
Richard will be remembered as being “the life of the party”-always laughing in his presence.
He enjoyed the frequent BBQ on the deck and having drinks with his family. He was an avid Yankees and Dolphins Fan and enjoyed bowling.
He was a man of God and attended Northway Church.
Survivors include his wife Therese “Tracy” (Laprade) Naze of Stillwater; his children: Richard J. (Ashley) Naze, Jr., of Cohoes, Crystal (Joe) Naze of Clifton Park, Derrick (Felicia) Naze of Schenectady, and Victoria Naze (affectionately known as his BFF) of Malta; four grandsons, three step-children and a step-grandchild; a brother Robert Naze of Albany and a sister Karen (Dave) Naze of Schenectady; three aunts Suzanne (Matt), Patti, and Rita (Scott) as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 2:00pm Saturday, November 25 at Cannon Funeral Home, 2020 Central Avenue, Colonie. Calling hours will be held from 12 Noon to 2:00pm prior to the service. Burial will be at Saratoga National Cemetery at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to either the Stratton VA Medical Center or to the Wounded Warrior Project.
