Richard J Muzio

Richard J. Muzio, 86, of Colonie, passed away peacefully on Monday November 13, 2017, surrounded by his loving family.

He was born in Albany and was the son of the late Mario and Marie Sainato Muzio. Dick was an excellent basketball player as a young man. He was employed for many years at Tobin Packing Company and more recently with the Town of Colonie, Purchasing Department. Dick was a lifelong, die hard Pittsburgh Steeler fan. He was a longtime Republican Committeeman for the Town of Colonie.

Dick is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Florence Iovino Muzio. He is the dear father of Sandra (Jack) Carona and Susan (Dominick) Coluccio. He is the brother of the late Ray (Zeke) Muzio. He is the beloved grandfather of Anthony (Ross) Carona and Jacqueline (Richard) Lane. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.  The family would like to express their sincerest appreciation and thanks to the wonderful staff at St. Peter’s Hospital and Landmark Care.

Calling hours will be Friday morning from 9:00 to 11:00 am at St. Clare’s Church, 1947 Central Ave. Colonie. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 on Friday at St. Clare’s Church. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Clare’s Church, 1947 Central Ave. Albany, NY 12205 in memory of Richard J. Muzio.
