COLONIE – Richard (Dick) Edward Daley passed away on November 30, 2022 at home surrounded by his loving family.
He was born August 17, 1932 in Albany, New York. Dick graduated from Vincentian Institute in 1950 and enlisted in the Navy from 1951-1955. He worked in the shipping department of Tobin Packing Company from 1956-1980.
Dick was a local bowler for 35 years. His win in the Times Union Play Championship in 1961 was the highlight of his bowling career. He was an avid spectator of many sports and liked to have a little something riding on the games. One of his favorite spots was his lawn chair on Nicholas Drive where all the neighbors gathered.
Richard is survived by his children Carol Daley of Albany, Dennis Daley of Albany, Theresa (Rich) Duval of Latham, Michael (Sharon) Daley of Saratoga and Barbara (Al) Bonificio of South Glens Falls. He is the grandfather of Joseph, Cameron, Justin, Maria, Tim, Bill, Andrea, Paul, Brian, Elizabeth and Amy. He is the great grandfather of Aaron, Hannah, Benjamin, Lillian, Calvin, Koal, Hiro, Kiko, Livia, Charlotte, Theodore, Hazel and Hudson. He is survived by several nieces and nephews.
Dick was predeceased by his wives, Mary Joyce (McLean) Daley and Lillian (Sleasman) Daley, his parents and his brother, Daniel.
Services will be private at the convenience of the family. Entombment will be in Saratoga National VA Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Dick’s honor to your favorite charity.
