GUILDERLAND – Raymond Thomas “Ray” Pachucki, 76, of Guilderland, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 28th at Albany Medical Center, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born in Niskayuna and was the son of the late Rudolph and Genevieve (Nowicki) Pachucki. Ray was a dedicated husband to Patricia Ann Pachucki, his wife of 56 years. Together, they lovingly raised three children: Brenda Pachucki (Robert Sylvester), Dorothy (Randy) Zyskowski and Raymond “Zuk” (Lesley) Pachucki Jr. Ray was affectionately known as “Poppy” to his grandchildren Christopher Bowen, Shawnee, Jacob, and Zachary (Catherine) Zyskowski, Dionysus Rose, Raymond III “Trey” and Nolan Pachucki, and Landon Lloyd.
Raymond was a lifelong farmer, known for baling hay and raising pigs and cattle on the farm he owned and operated with his wife. Their farm, R.T. and Me Stock Farm, has been the gathering place for the family for decades. Raymond was also known for his love of American Bulldogs, many of which provided companionship to him over the years. He was proud of his Polish heritage and enjoyed listening to The Polka Spotlight show on Siena College’s WVCR radio every Sunday. He was particularly fond of eating homemade chruściki cookies. Ray also enjoyed watching old Westerns and took inspiration in life from Pope St. John Paul II.
Raymond was predeceased by his parents, his beloved sisters Lorraine Devenpeck and Mary Ann Loveland, and his brother Richard Pachucki. In addition to his wife, children, and grandchildren, Raymond is survived by several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews, his canine companion Mikey, his brothers-in-law Robert Loveland and Marshall (Nancy) Devenpeck, as well as his lifelong friend John Pienizak.
The family would like to thank the dedicated staff at Albany Medical Center for the remarkable care provided to Ray in his last hours.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Ray’s family on Sunday from 2 to 5 pm at Cannon Funeral Home, 2020 Central Ave., Colonie. Funeral services will be Monday morning at 10 am at the funeral Home. Interment will follow at St. Adalbert Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Saratoga County Animal Shelter, 6010 County Farm Rd. Ballston Spa, NY 12020 or Siena College’s WVCR Radio at www.siena.edu/alumni-and-friends/giving/.
