Niskayuna - Pomea Dupuis Dailey, 49, of Riverview Road, passed away Wednesday, June 12, 2024 at Ellis Hospital in Schenectady.
Born on November 16, 1974, she was the daughter of Todd J. Dailey and Bonita (Dupuis) Dailey Brecht.
She was a 1996 graduate of Schenectady High School.
Affectionately known to family as “pumpkin”, Pomea lived life to the fullest despite the adversity of being confined to a wheelchair. She will be remembered as being a bright soul that advocated for herself. Growing up, she enjoyed spending time with her grandparents doing embroidery and needlepoint.
Her interests were diverse- she collected Barbie dolls, going to concerts or enjoying an occasional Seagram’s Cooler as well as going shopping. She enjoyed family gatherings at Holidays and special occasions. Every Christmas, she always looked forward to getting her new Chip and Dale Calendar.
While remembering Pumpkin, her brother Jake stated, “If speaking with friends when we were kids was a hobby, that would be it for sure.”
Survivors include her brother Jake Dailey and his wife Anna of Feasterville, PA and several aunts, uncles, her niece Devorah (who was the highlight of her life) as well as many cousins.
A prayer service will be held at 11:00am Thursday, June 20 at Cannon Funeral Home, 2020 Central Avenue, Colonie. Calling hours will follow from 11:15am to 1:00pm at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
The family would like to express their appreciation to Catholic Charities for their love and support over the years.
