COLONIE- Peggy Ann Warren, 81, of Colonie, passed away peacefully at her daughter’s residence on Sunday October 22, 2023, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born in Albany and was the daughter of the late Henry J. Glatz and Margaret Zell. A graduate of Vincentian Institute, Peggy enjoyed many years as a volunteer and member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church. She was the former Program Director for Albany County Traffic Safety Education through the Dept. of Public Works. Peggy was the former President of the New York State Traffic Safety Association. She loved horses, horseback riding and spoiling her cherished grandchildren. Peggy was the kindest, most unselfish and charitable Mom, Grammy, Gigi, neighbor and friend. She was a longtime member of the North Albany Limericks.
Peggy was predeceased by her beloved husband John “Jake” Warren and her sons -in-law, Thomas Dupuis and Martin Lahait; her siblings, Henry J. Glatz, Karen Glatz, Salvatore Gerace and Henry J. Glatz Jr.
She is the devoted mother of Deborah (Vincent) Avila and Donna Dupuis. Peggy is the sister of Linda Markel-Boink (Michael), Peter Gerace, and Mary Ellen Ray (Mark). She is the loving Grammy to Joshua Shadick (Theresa), Nicholas Shadick (Kristen), Robert (Jess) Lahait, Alisha Dupuis (Jake), Thomas (Elena) Dupuis Jr. and Luke (Abbie) Dupuis. Peggy is Gigi to Alize’, Joshua, Maya, Elliana, Evan, Alyssa, Jayden, Gage, Cody, Ryley, Connor, Savannah, Theodore, Caleb and Henry. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Peggy’s family on Thursday from 4 to 7 pm at Cannon Funeral Home, 2020 Central Ave., Colonie. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday morning at 9:30 at Our Lady of the Assumption Church, Latham. Interment will follow at St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Community Hospice of Albany (www.communityhosipice.org/donate) or NENY Alzheimer’s Ass’n, (www.alz.org) in memory of Peggy A. Warren.
