Paulina E. Laboy

DELMAR – Paulina (Grandma Lina/Paby) Laboy, 87, of Delmar, NY passed away on Sunday, January 15, 2023, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Coamo, Puerto Rico and was the daughter of the late Teodoro Espada and Anastacia Colon.

Paby worked at Hillside Manor in Hartford, CT as a certified nursing assistant for many years. She loved to cook “pasteles” and other Puerto Rican food. She loves to sew doll’s clothes. Family was important to her as well as Jesus. She talked about putting her affairs in order and was ready to be with Jesus but would go after there was World Peace!

Paby is the beloved wife of 59 years to the late Juan “Tony” Laboy. She is the mother of Marina L. (James) Sepowski and Francisco Laboy. She is the grandmother of Steven, Sabrina, Crystal Lynn, Anthony C., Anthony J. and Antonio. Paby is the sister to Pedro, Felicita, Margarita, Leonardo, Pablo, Aurelio, Esteban, Nazario, Blanca Iris, Cirilo, Miguel, Teodoro Espada Jr., Miriam Mateo, Mary Espada, Adria Laboy and Rosa Parolo. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Paby’s family on Saturday morning from 10 to 11:30am at Cannon Funeral Home 2020 Central Ave., Colonie, NY. A prayer service will be offered at 11:30 am at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens.
