Paul J. Mercaitis

Albany NY - Paul John Mercaitis shuffled off this mortal coil and passed away peacefully Saturday, March 30th, 2024 in his sleep. Born in Boston, Massachusetts on August 27,1948 he grew up there and graduated from Boston College before continuing on to the MGH School of Nursing where he became an RN and met his future wife, Suzanne. He then received his CRNA through the Albany Medical College Nurse Anesthetist program. Throughout his career he worked in Albany, NY and Springfield, Massachusetts for over 30 years.

He is predeceased by his beloved wife Suzanne O’Loughlin, parents Anthony and Charlotte Mercaitis, and sister Patricia Mercaitis. He is survived by his loving son Dr. Orion Mercaitis and sisters Paula and Frances.

Paul understood the function of man is to live, not to exist. He loved visiting Provincetown, sailing, and listening to jazz on the radio.
