Colonie - Paul David Ferro, 69, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday October 12, 2021 following a lengthy illness.

Paul was born in Schenectady to the late Frank and Alexandria (Liz) Ferro. He was a 1970 graduate of Linton High School and attended Schenectady County Community College. Paul retired from the Golub Corporation after 41 years of dedicated service where he was a mentor and friend to many. Following his retirement from the Golub Corporation in 2010, he went to work for Pellegrino Sales and Marketing where he worked until 2018.

Paul enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He loved to travel to Cape Cod, North Carolina, and Atlantic City. Paul played an instrumental role in the lives of many people but especially his children. He was a coach, a mentor, a friend, a hardworking man who was always there for his family. Paul had an enormous sense of pride for the home he built with Margaret and loved hearing everyone’s compliments on having the nicest lawn in the neighborhood.

In addition to his parents, Paul was predeceased by his in laws Rose and Ted Kowalski, and his beloved Aunt Anna Lepri.

He is survived by his adoring wife of 48 years, Margaret (Kowalski) Ferro who was the love of his life, his son Joseph (Megan) Ferro of Brunswick, daughter Angela (Todd) Sullivan and their children Maggie Anna and Anthony of Horseheads, NY. Paul is also survived by his sister Nancyann (Harry) Buffardi of Rotterdam; Nieces Christina (Michael) Tremante-Pelham and their daughter Molly, Michelle (Bob ) Buffardi and their son Rory, nephews Darren (Jodie) Riccio and their daughters Darrian (Mike) Nadeau and Madison, and Michael Buffardi. Paul is survived by many cherished in-laws, nieces, and nephews on Margaret’s side whom Paul loved and adored. Paul met and made many gracious friends over the years and was loved by everyone who knew him.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10am Saturday, October 16 at the Church of St. Clare, 1947 Central Ave, Colonie with dear family friend Rev Thomas Morrette. Entombment will follow at Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery.

Calling hours will be held from 4:00pm to 7:00pm Friday, October 15 at Cannon Funeral Home, 2020 Central Avenue, Colonie. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Community Hospice.
