COLONIE – Patrick (Murph) Emery Murphy Sr. 82, of Colonie, passed away Thursday April 19, 2018 at the Inn of Community Hospice.
He was born April 18, 1936 in Albany to Loie and Francis Murphy. Murph served in the US Army from 1955 through 1957. He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Patricia (Sweet) Murphy, and his six devoted children, Patrick Jr. (Terry), Tracy Vincent (Mike), Terri Murphy-Busch (Tom), Scott (Tina), Sean (June) and Erin Scott (Will). He is also survived by 16 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Murph was an advocate for youth right up until his passing. He will be most remembered as a co-founder of the Lishakill Youth Group with Al Koblenzer. Murph was avid member of the Teamsters Local 294 for 54 years. He was a loving Dad and father figure to many. The family would like to thank and acknowledge the caring and compassionate staff at the Hospice Inn at St. Peter’s Hospital.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend graveside services on Tuesday April 24, 2018 at 11:00 am at Evergreen Memorial Park in Colonie. Services in celebration of Murph’s life will follow at City Harvest Church, 585 Central Ave., Albany, NY 12206.
