COLONIE - Patricia Y. Weidberg (Pat), 70, passed away from Multiple Myeloma, on Sunday, June 30, 2019. Pat was born August 22, 1948, in Titusville, PA, to WWII veteran Glenn E. Yingling and Cornelia (Bell) Yingling. Both of Pat’s parents predeceased her in 2012.

Upon graduation from Newark Valley Central High School, Pat attended SUNY Albany and State University College in Oneonta before graduating from North Alabama College of Commerce in Huntsville, Alabama. Pat met and married her husband, Vietnam War veteran Staff Sergeant Mark G. Weidberg in December 1969. They had one child, Amy, and remained married until his death in 1997.

Pat worked as a secretary for Alabama Vocational Rehabilitation Services in Huntsville, then for Burns and Roe, an engineering firm in Hempstead, Long Island, and for GE in Binghamton and Latham, NY, before being employed as a secretary in the Public Relations Department of New York State United Teachers (NYSUT) in Albany, NY. She retired from NYSUT with 21 years of service in 1999. Pat then worked as a correspondent for six years for Combined Life Insurance Company in Latham, before retiring for a second time.

Pat’s favorite interests included spending time with family and friends, reading, bowling, golfing, and playing Scrabble and bridge, as well as most card games known to mankind. During her life, Pat also enjoyed cruises to the Caribbean, Mexico, and Alaska.

Pat is survived by her beloved daughter, Amy Thompson (Jamarr), and her very precious grandchild, Janiya. She is also survived by her sister, Carolyn Yingling of Catskill, NY, and her two children, Kira and Joshua, and her brother Dr. David G. (Cindy) Yingling, of Cape Girardeau, MO, and their four children – Michael, Sara, Meghan, and Daniel. Pat is also survived by her aunt and uncle, Jane and Earl Yingling of Titusville, PA, and their two children, Dr. Arthur Earl Yingling and Cynthia Yingling Patterson, and their families. Sally Bell Clark, Judie Campasino, and Bertrelle Phillips are Pat’s other surviving cousins. She is also survived by her dear friends Dorothy Osovski, Barbara Valenti, Dottie Merza and Robert Marshall.

Funeral services will be Saturday July 6th at 12 noon at Cannon Funeral Home, 2020 Central Ave. Colonie. Visitation will be from 11:00 am to 12 noon at the funeral home, prior to the service. Interment will be in Memory Gardens.
