Patricia I. Farrell

May 17, 1963 — July 27, 2018

COLONIE -Like the softness of a peacock feather, the spirit of Laree Farrell Lincoln took her Mom, Patricia Farrell by the hand and led her to eternal peace in the house of the Lord. Patty’s physical body departed on Friday, July 27, 2018, however her spirit, smile and laughter will stay with those she left behind forever.

Patty is survived by her mother Nancy Fischer, step-father Max Fischer, brother James (Karen) Farrell of Maryland, sisters Terry (Joseph) Kaiser of Connecticut and Sheri Fischer of Albany. She was predeceased by her father James Farrell and daughter Laree Farrell-Lincoln. Patty also leaves behind several nieces and nephews and her many, many friends who will treasure her memory forever. Patty was a friend to many but shared an unbreakable bond with Herb Lincoln who nurtured and cared for Patty throughout her recent illness.

Patty worked for the Albany Police Department for 20 plus years, retiring as a detective assigned to the Children and Family Services Unit. She was instrumental in the implementation of the Employees Assistance Program (EAP) from which she received the Silver Shield Award from the Albany Police Department Union. During Patty’s lifetime her selfless efforts to help others earned her numerous awards, recognition and the admiration of all those lives she touched. Most recently Patty retired due to illness from the NYS Department of Health, Office of Professional Medical Conduct as an investigator where she formed many lasting friendships.

Patty’s passion for the past five years has been bringing awareness and education of the Heroin epidemic, hence the undying need to see the passage of “Laree’s Law”. Let’s keep her passion alive for the future of many victims of Heroin.

Patty’s extended family offers our heartfelt thanks, appreciation and love to all who helped support and guide Patty in her journey home to Laree. The family would also like to express their utmost gratitude to the staff of Hospice for their kind and compassionate care.
