Muriel M. Jasper

August 3, 1929 — November 28, 2021

DAYTONA BEACH, FL. – Muriel M. Jasper, 92, passed away on November 28, 2021, at her home in Daytona Beach.

Muriel was born in Madawaska, Maine, on the Canadian border to Paul Martin and Alice (Guimond) Martin. She grew up on a farm with four brothers, Jean Paul, Robert, Clayton and Raymond: and five sisters, Rachel, Alexandrine, Jacqueline, Rinette and Marietta. As it was for so many growing up in the 30s and 40s, life was not easy on the farm. However, with thanks to her loving parents, wonderful siblings and a large close knit extended family, Muriel had cherished memories of her childhood that she loved to share with her own children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Muriel met her future husband at a local dance. He was William (Bill) Jasper of Amsterdam, NY., a member of the United States Air Force who was stationed in northeastern Maine. They married in 1953 and moved to Amsterdam when Bill’s time in the service was up. In addition to Bill’s family, they enjoyed a wide circle of friends in Amsterdam, especially their fellow members of the Irish American Club. Muriel also enjoyed bowling, gardening, entertaining during the holidays, babysitting for her grandchildren, and spending time with her family.

Muriel was predeceased by her husband Bill to whom she was married for 55 years, her sisters, Rachel and Rinette and brothers, Jean Paul and Robert. Muriel is the beloved mother of Michael Jasper of Daytona Beach and Debra (John) Grebert of Latham. She is the cherished grandmother of Daniel and Sarah (Craig) and great grandmother of Kendall, Trey and Cole. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
