Michael D. Reilly

Michael D. Reilly of Monroe, GA, formerly Nanuet, NY and East Berne, NY, died, at his home, on Saturday December 30, 2017 after a brave battle against Squamous Cell Carcinoma. He was 68. He was born on July 21, 1949 as the only son of Ruth (Paeglow) Reilly in Albany, NY. He attended Cardinal McCloskey High School (1967) and St. Mary of the Plains College (1971). Michael worked for over 25 years at the American Red Cross, NYC and then began to follow his passion for local and state politics, working for the Town of Ramapo NY and was active in the Democratic Party in Rockland County, NY. All of this while growing up and continuing to spend his adult free time fishing and boating at Thompson’s Lake, East Berne, NY. He was the beloved husband of 45 years to Barbara (Balagna) Reilly. Devoted father of Kathleen (Jeremy) Goldstein, and M. David (Erika) Reilly, Jr. Adored Peepaw of Jack and Caileigh Goldstein and Michael Reilly, III. A funeral mass will be held at St. Lucy’s Catholic Church, Altamont, NY on Saturday, January 6 ^th at 10:30 with a reception to follow in the Church hall. Memorial donations may be made in Michael’s name to the Koinonia Primary Care Center at 553 Clinton Ave; Albany, NY 12206; Attention Dr. Bob Paeglow.
