Albany - Michael J. Hettie, at rest, Thursday, March 24, 2022 at Albany Medical Center. He was 62.

Born November 5, 1959 in Albany, he was the beloved son of Michael J. and Gabriella (Gladys) R. (DiNovo) Hettie; beloved father of Marilee Hettie and Valerie (Charles) Meisner; beloved grandpa to Camden Meisner; beloved brother to Mary Hettie. Also leaves behind an Aunt, Evelyn Moore, many cousins, girlfriend Carol Ann Lizza of Delray Beach, FL, and his best fur buddy “Munson”.

Michael was a 1978 graduate of Albany High School and attended Hudson Valley Community College. He was formerly employed at Target Distribution in Wilton, Publix in Florida, and currently at Knolls Atomic Power Laboratory in Niskayuna.

He was an avid New York Giants and Boston Red Sox Fan, loved all cars, NASCAR, and the beach. In earlier years, he bowled in leagues at Del Lanes.

Calling hours will be held from 4:00pm to 7:00pm with a prayer service at 7:00pm Wednesday, March 30 at Cannon Funeral Home, 2020 Central Avenue, Colonie. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery, Glenmont.

Mike loved for pets. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to the animal support organization of your choice in his memory.
