Max F. Fischer, Jr.

COLONIE – Max F. Fischer Jr., 82, of Colonie, passed away on Thursday, July 06, 2023 at his residence with his cherished family by his side.

Max was born in Albany and was the son of the late Max F. Fischer Sr. and Catherine Luther Fischer. He was a Police Officer with the Albany Police Dept for twenty years, retiring in 1982. Max was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was Nascar fan and a collector of knives and guns.

Max was predeceased by his beloved wife Nancy, his daughter Patricia Farrell and his granddaughter Laree Farrell-Lincoln. He is the devoted father of Sheri Fischer of Colonie, James (Karen) Farrell of Hollywood, MD and Theresa (Joe) Kaiser of Conway, SC.

The family is most grateful to Max’s wonderful caregivers from hospice; Sam, Chi, Dawn, Maria and Pam.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Max’s family on Tuesday from 5 to 7 pm at Cannon Funeral Home, 2020 Central Ave., Colonie. Graveside services will be Wednesday at 11:30 am at St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery.
