Maureen Nantista Dowen

SLINGERLANDS – Maureen Nantista Dowen, 64, of Slingerlands passed away suddenly on Friday, July 30, 2021 at her residence.

She was born in Albany and was the daughter of the late Joseph J. and Joan M. Nantista. Maureen was a thirty-eight-year employee with St. Peter’s Hospital, most recently with SPARC, retiring in 2020. She was very easy going and enjoyed planning parties with her family.

Maureen is the beloved wife of John E. Dowen. She is the devoted mother of Andrew (Amanda) Dowen. Maureen is the Grammy of Delia and Selwyn. She is the dear sister of Mary Ann (Mike) Chiera, Colleen Murphy (late Bud), Joanne Nantista, Ellen Nantista, Joe (Jeanne) Nantista, Nita McLaughlin and Tony (Kim) Nantista. Maureen is the sister-in-law of Bob (Debbie) Dowen. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Maureen’s family on Thursday from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at Cannon Funeral Home, 2020 Central Ave., Colonie. A prayer service will be offered at 7:00 pm.
