Mary Lee Brown

COLONIE - Mary Lee Brown, 86, passed away peacefully at her residence, surrounded by her loving family, on Monday November 22, 2021. She was born in Endicott, NY and was the daughter of the late John Karl and Mary Kuzma Karl.

Mary Lee was a graduate of Union Endicott High School and Union University School of Nursing. She spent her nursing career as a visiting Registered Nurse, compassionately caring for many cherished members of the Oneida Silversmith Community in Sherrill, NY. She went above and beyond for her patients, and always took the opportunity to deliver fresh baked treats alongside exceptional nursing care.

Above all, Mary Lee was a loving wife and nurturing mother to her four daughters. She found great joy sharing and filling her home with family and loved ones. She was a devoted friend and confidante to many.

Mary Lee is survived by her husband of 61 years Gerald “Jerry” Brown. She is the devoted mother of Mary Beth Brown (David Manhire), Maryanne (Patrick) O’Malley, Mary Lynne (Jonathan) Lee, and Mary Kristen (Kamran) Avini. She is the sister of Very Rev. Robert J. Karl and Dorothy A. Karl. Mary Lee is the Baba to Marykate O’Malley (Brian) Kalish, Justin Karl Lee, Mia Sahar Avini, Adrian Amir Avini and the Great Baba to Nora Mari Kalish.

Mary Lee’s family would like to give special thanks to her dear caregivers, Nerva, Krystal, Vertell, Vivett, Stephanie and June, as well as her devoted friend Marissa Dellaporta.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, November 29, 2021 at 12:00 noon at Our Lady of Victory Church, 55 North Lake Ave., Troy.
