ALBANY – Mary Ann Pierce, 83, of Albany, passed away holding the hand of the love of her life Ed, on Friday, July 26, 2024. She was born in Troy and was the daughter of the late Lawrence & Anna Pommer.
Mary Ann had worked for several years at New York State Teacher’s Retirement. She was a longtime communicant and volunteer at Christ the King Church. Mary Ann loved to entertain and host holiday parties. She was an avid fan of Siena basketball and the New York Mets. Her family (especially the grandchildren) brought her an overwhelming amount of joy and love.
Maryann is the beloved wife of 63 years to Edward A. Pierce Jr. She is the devoted mother of Edward (Barbara) Pierce III, Patricia Pierce, Debra (Michael) Hesch and Colleen (Michael) Pacella. She is the cherished grandmother of Amanda and Eddie Pierce, Katie (Matt) Tozzi, Dana Hesch, Michael (Shannon) Hesch, Danny, Molly and Grace Pacella. She is the great grandmother of Anna, Emma, Riley and Finn. She is the sister of the late Lawrence Pommer. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Mary Ann’s family on Wednesday from 4 to 7 pm at Cannon Funeral Home, 2020 Central Ave., Colonie. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday morning at 10:00 at Christ the King Church. Interment will follow at St. Agnes Cemetery.
