Albany – Mary A. Fitzner died on February 25, 2023.

Born in Albany to Mary (Kilroy Shannon) Faas and James Faas on June 14, 1934.

She graduated Cathedral Academy in 1952 and maintained yearly contact with members of her class. She worked for New York Telephone and at Key Bank Corporation for 35 years as a head teller.

She was predeceased by her husbands Richard Murtagh and Edward Fitzner.

She is survived by her partner of 21 years Ronald Sprung.

She is also survived by her children Karen (John) Mitchell, Kevin Murtagh, Diane Harris and Richard Murtagh.

She was the grandmother to Amanda Mitchell, Daniel (Ashley) Mitchell, and Tesha (Kris) Johnson and a great granddaughter Victoria.

She was the aunt to Donna (James) Martin, Kenneth (Mitzie Shannon) Kelleher, Jeanne (Daniel) Kelleher, Irene (John) Brown and Matthew Shannon.

She is also survived by her beloved friends Ann Hanlon, Joanne Delaney, Cathy Kernagham, Patricia Dougheraty, and Audrey Van Der Burger.

Relatives and friends are invited and may call on Mary’s family from 10 am until time of her service at 12 Noon, Friday, March 3, at Cannon Funeral Home, 2020 Central Avenue, Colonie. Burial will be private at St. Agnes Cemetery.
