Marlene Liesel Braman, 90, of Colonie, passed away, Friday December 8, 2023, at Hospice at St. Peter’s Hospital following a brief illness.
Born on April 20, 1933, she was the daughter of Hans and Catherine Uibel.
Marlene was a graduate of Schuyler High School. She was a homemaker, finding great joy in decorating her home for the holidays, hosting Christmas Eve and raising her children. In her earlier years, she worked at Bellevue Hospital and as a bookkeeper. Her past times included gaming in Atlantic City, Las Vegas and Saratoga.
Besides her parents, she is predeceased by a son, Timothy Scott Braman.
She leaves her husband of 71 years, John E. Braman, her children James (April) Braman of Loudonville, Christopher (Janet) Braman of Menands and Catherine (Mark) Wyszomirski of Colonie; seven grandchildren, Christie Braman, Nicholas (Brienna) Braman, Rachel (Brennan) Hand, Kylie (Ben) Hutson, Alexa Wyszomirski, Madison Braman and Timothy Braman; and two great grandchildren, Hadley and Lucas Hutson.
Marlene was beloved by everyone who ever met her. She will be deeply missed.
A calling hour will be held from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM on Wednesday, December 13, 2023, followed by a service at 11:00 AM at Cannon Funeral Home, 2020 Central Avenue, Colonie. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Glenmont.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
