Marjorie B. Wahrman

May 13, 1922 — April 24, 2018

LOUDONVILLE - Marjorie B. Wahrman, 95,  (Marge)  peacefully passed into eternal life on Tuesday April 24, 2018 with family and friends by her side. Marjorie was born in Plymouth, England and emigrated to the United States at the age  of 6 with her parents, the late Albert and Harriet (Scoble) Boaden, and her brother, the late William (Jack) Boaden. Marge was a faithful congregant of the Cathedral of All Saints on Swan Street in Albany, where she received her first communion in 1933. For more than 80 years following her first communion, Marge was a fixture at her beloved Cathedral.

Following in the footsteps of her parents, Marge’s life was one largely devoted to the service of others. She gave unlimited time and attention to the needs of her family, the needs of her community and the needs of her Cathedral.  For decades she volunteered weekly at the Cathderal’s Thrift Shop, the Cathedral’s Altar Guild and at the Child’s Nursing Home in Albany.

She graduated from Roessleville High School in 1940, and it was at Roessleville where she met the love of her life, the late Robert F. Wahrman, Jr. (Bob). Marge and Bob were married for 59 years and lived the majority of their lives together on Noxon Court in Loudonville.

Marge and Bob loved traveling together throughout New England and spent many vacations in Ogunquit, Maine and Stowe, Vermont. They also took many trips to England, Scotland and Wales to visit family and friends over the years. Marge and Bob made a point to take each of their grandchildren to England for month long trips to visit family and enjoy the beautiful country they loved so much.

Marge was a woman of many talents, an excellent cook, embroiderer, and hostess. She was always entertaining family and friends for breakfasts and dinners. For years, she would host a gathering at her home after the Cathedral’s midnight Christmas Mass. She gracefully touched the lives of everyone who knew her.

More than anything else, Marge loved her family. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Bob, in 2001 and by her beloved son, Robert J. Wahrman, in 2015. Marge is survived by her daughter, Pamela Couch, and Pamela’s three children and eight grandchildren, Sean Couch, father of Kaitlyn, Jake and Lillian, Heather Harvey, mother of Matthew, and Courtney Abele, mother of Makayla, Jordan, Logan and Leana. She is also survived by her late son, Robert’s children and Robert’s four grandchildren, Tara Anne Pleat, mother of Drew and Sophia and Brittany Orologio, mother of Jacob and Ethan. Marge also leaves a nephew, Stephen Boaden, extended family and countless friends in both the United States and the United Kingdom.

The family would like to extend profound gratitude to Cathryne Welch. Cathryne was steadfast in her devotion to and care of Marge over the last several years and especially over the last months as Marge was nearing the end of her life. Cathryne always found a way to attend medical treatments, offer kind words and provide respite. She sat vigil with the family as Marge found her way to peace. Marge’s family is forever grateful for her kindness, compassion and friendship.

The family would also like to extend sincere gratitude to Margaret Nells and Stanley Williams for their love, support and care of Marge, ensuring she made it to Cathedral for Mass and ensuring she always saw a friendly face.
