Marie Lostritto

Marie Lostritto gained her wings after a long battle with heart disease on January 12th 2022. Born on July 19th 1949 in the city of Albany. Marie was educated in the city school district of Albany. She was employed by NYS Office of Insurance. Marie was also employed at Philip Schuyler Elementary School where she was every kid’s favorite lunch lady. She was a longtime employee of the YMCA as well. Marie spent her free time caring for her grandchildren, hanging out with her sisters, or chilling on the block “Orange Street”. She loved to cook and Marie LOVED walking and shopping. She would walk to Westgate Plaza EVERY DAY. There wasn’t a place she wouldn’t walk to, to go shopping.

Marie leaves to cherish behind her legacy of six children. Todd (Dany), Anthony (Barbara), Mark, Michael, Jeffrey (Nina), Perry (Ramona), and her only baby girl Mary. Twenty grandchildren Nicole (Josh), Tiffany, Emily, Hannah, Amanda, Erika, Marcelle, Nico, Mikey, Alanna, Trinity, Gianna, Nataleah, Moriah, Jurmaine, De’Vonta, Adonis, Vinny, Daniel & John. Three great grandchildren Ar’King, Aviana, awaiting Nicole and Josh’s baby girl. Siblings Michael, Lillian, DeeDee, and baby sister Lisa. Nieces and nephews Mark, Maurice, Jackie, Jessica, Carrie, Stacey, and Carrie (CC). Loving uncle Jim and Aunt RoseMary. Marie is also survived by special daughters by love Gina Morris, Sarah Billings, and Argiro Tziakas.

Marie was predeceased by her parents, siblings Mark, George, John and Gary. Niece and nephew Tony and Tracey and a lifelong friend Frank Peters.

Marie also is predeceased by her dog and best friend Phoenix. Marie was greatly appreciated and loved by everyone. A special thank you to the staff at Albany Medical Center involved in her care.

A homegoing service will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, January 22, 2022 at Cannon Funeral Home, 2020 Central Avenue, Colonie.
