Marie F. Fontaine

COLONIE - Marie F. Fontaine, 90, of Colonie, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 18, 2022 at her residence, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born in Malone, NY and was the daughter of the late Frank and Rose Rapp. Marie was a 1949 graduate of Philip Schuyler High School. She was a Senior Clerk with New York State Department of Motor Vehicles retiring in 1986. Marie was a member of Hart Seniors and Thunder Rd. Seniors and the Ladies of the Rotterdam Elks. She enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, traveling and family get togethers.

Marie is survived by her beloved husband of seventy years, Robert J. Fontaine Sr. She is the devoted mother of Robert J. (Todd) Fontaine Jr., of Silver Spring, MD., Kathleen R. (Richard) Link and Karen J. (Raymond) Paradise of Colonie. She is the cherished grandmother of Jessica (Jason) Miller, Candace (John) Spychalski, Rebecca Vergare, Jammie Link, Zachary Paradise and the late Anthony “AJ” Paradise. Great grandmother of Brendan and Brayden Miller. Marie is the sister of Frank (Joan) Rapp of Little Egg Harbor, NJ and the late Betty R. Roark. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Marie’s family on Monday from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at Cannon Funeral Home, 2020 Central Ave, Colonie. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday at 11:30 am at St. Clare’s Church, 1947 Central Ave., Colonie. Masks are required at the funeral home and church services. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens.
