Marcos A. Lugo, Jr.

August 30, 1996 — March 5, 2025

It is with profound sadness that we announce the untimely passing of Marcos Antonio Lugo Jr. (known to friends and family as Marc, Jun, or Junior), born on August 30, 1996, in Peekskill, New York. Marcos left this world far too soon, but his memory will live on through the joy, laughter, and love he shared with everyone around him.

Marcos was the beloved son of Rena Ward and Marcos Antonio Lugo Sr. and the cherished stepson of Michelle McKnight. He was the life of the party, a vibrant soul who lit up every room he entered. He leaves behind a loving family, including his siblings: Shere Henriquez, Nikita Henriquez, Alysia Henriquez, Julian Lugo, Brooklyn Lugo, Joshua Lugo, Angel Lugo, Justin Vega, Kara McKnight, Alyssa Vega, and many others. He was also deeply loved by his extended family, including his aunts Brenda Burley, Mary Huff, Crystal McKnight, Debra Aponte, and Connie Sackett, and his uncles Juan Simon, Charles Sackett, and Carlton Huff. His cousins—Jessica Huff, Tylor Huff, Tatiana Reeves, Tiara Reeves, Tashinay Burley, Charles Sackett Jr., Dylan Sackett, Anesa Boone, Karizma Brooks, Dayana Simons, Amenya Brown, Trotskeye Brown, and Akilah Hines—were like siblings to him. He also shared a close and meaningful bond with his brothers-in-law: Lemont Collins, Sean Brijmohan, and Christopher Joseph, who were an integral part of his life. He shared a special bond with his grandparents, Laura Holister, Larry Ward, Barbara Ward, and Miguel Aponte, who provided him with love and wisdom throughout his life.

A gifted barber with an entrepreneurial spirit, Marcos developed his passion for the craft at a young age, learning from his father in their family barbershop. His dedication to the art of barbering and his love for connecting with people led him to open The Game Changer Barber Shop—a place where everyone felt at home. Marcos didn’t just cut hair; he made friends, created memories, and always went the extra mile to make his clients feel like family.

Marcos' vibrant personality extended beyond his work. He valued laughter, good energy, and time spent with those he loved. Whether he was hosting a party, enjoying time with friends, or sharing his favorite phrase, “100%,” he lived life to the fullest. His friendships were just as important to him as his family, and he cherished the strong bonds he shared with his closest friends, LG, Jeff, Endy, Many, Andres, and Flacko. Marcos had a way of bringing people together, and his energy was infectious, lighting up every room he entered.

Marcos was also a proud and devoted uncle to his nieces and nephews: Nisenia Henriquez, Natalia Brijmohan, Jovan Sampson, Elijah Kilgore, Aayden Frazier, Jeremiah Collins, Na'Zia Collins, and Noriega Gill. His playful spirit, caring nature, and unwavering love for his family will never be forgotten. He also shared a special connection with his girlfriend, Veronica Pagan.

Marcos' legacy is one of warmth, joy, and a commitment to living authentically. He was a shining example of love, laughter, and the importance of surrounding yourself with good people. He leaves behind a void that can never be filled, but his memory will continue to inspire all those who had the privilege of knowing him.

A celebration of Marcos' life will take place in the coming days. The family extends their deepest gratitude to everyone who has offered support and shared memories during this difficult time.

Rest in peace, Marcos. You will always be loved, always remembered, and always 100%.

The family would also like to extend their heartfelt thanks to Marcos' bonus family: Rafael Henriquez, Miguelina Henriquez, Aurora Henriquez, and the rest of the Henriquez family for their love and support during this difficult time.
