Malcolm Johnson

January 21, 1952 — October 30, 2018

Tuesday evening, October 30,2018 at 6:20pm, Malcolm Johnson Jr., 66 of Albany New York peacefully passed on while a patient at the Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Delmar, NY.

Malcolm had battled with cancer for some time. He was born on Jan.21,1952 in Albany New York.

The son of the late Mary Berda Randolph (Johnson) and Malcolm Johnson Sr.

Malcolm worked as a Motor Vehicle Operator for the Office of The New York State Department of Mental Health Center for 30 years, before retiring January of 2018. Malcolm devoted some of his time in the office telling jokes and teaching young children about boxing, as that was a sport he greatly enjoyed and admired, having been a boxer in earlier years himself.   He was a genuine and generally kind, caring person. To know him was to appreciate him. He was a great family man who devoted his entire life to caring for children. Malcolm also enjoyed doing stand-up comedy and occasionally performed at a couple of local clubs here in the Albany area. He had such a great sense of humor among many other great qualities of character he'll be remembered by.

He was well educated in the subject of history and took pride in enlightening the young around him on the topic.

He leaves behind to mourn 3 children: Reba Jamila Johnson, Mr. Malcolm T. Johnson III (Wife,Shakeina),long with family mascot, Boris.

Grandchildren: Jasmine Slade, Ameerah Page, Camaryn Smith , Marcus Johnson, Jahzeer Leno, Kyle Tillery, and Amari Betrand.

Siblings: Helena M. Randolph, David (Joe-Black) Randolph, Jerome Johnson, Anthony (Uncle P.) Johnson, Phillip K. Hudson, Geoffrey A. Hudson, Michael A. Hudson.

An aunt Sybil Johnson, two cousins Larry and Jerald Johnson .

Nieces/Nephews: Michele Randolph, Robert (Starborn) Miller, Larry (B-Allah) Miller, Alex Ali Ryan, Latisha, Ellakisha and Tranicha Williamson, Toneisha Johnson, Shirley and David Johnson.

Sisters-in-law; Dorothy Dubois and Vonda Williamson.

He also leaves behind his most beloved friend Fiancée Mary Singletary and his step-daughter Shamika Singletary, son-in-law Charles Williams along with his precious step-grandchildren Ohjahmeir Jones and Dremeir Massey.
