Madeline J. Girard

December 1, 1925 — January 15, 2021

ALBANY-Madeline Girard, 95, of Guilderland passed away on January 15, 2021 at the Beverwyck Nursing Care Facility.

She was the daughter of the late Anton and Ella Rausch.  Madeline was predeceased by her beloved husband, Alger J. Girard in 2009.  She is the cherished mother of Robert (Sharon)and Thomas.  Madeline also enjoyed her grandson Brian and her great granddaughters Riley and Sydney.

After high school Madeline worked at the Watervliet Arsenal and at Denby’s Department store in Troy after her sons left the household.  Madeline’s life revolved around her husband and family and the many friends she was blessed with.  She was caring, giving and unselfish and was an active participant in the Christ the King Church faith community.

As a younger mother and wife, she enjoyed the years of camping in the Adirondacks with family and friends.  She also enjoyed all card games especially Bridge.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Madeline’s family on Tuesday from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at Cannon Funeral Home, 2020 Central Ave., Colonie. Funeral services will be Wednesday morning at 10:00 am at Christ the King Church, Westmere, where the Mass and Christian Burial will be celebrated.  The Funeral Mass will be live streamed on Christ the King Church website. Interment will be in Our Lady of Angels Cemetery.  Memorial contributions may be made to Christ the King Church or Community Hospice of Albany in memory of Madeline Girard.  To leave a message of condolence for the family, visit www.CannonFuneral.com
