Lucia D. Boyle, 72, of Highland Avenue, passed away peacefully Monday, July 22, 2024 at St. Peter’s Hospice Inn, surrounded by her loving family, following a courageous battle against lung cancer.
Lucia was born in Albany on July 1, 1952, and was the daughter of the late Frederick and Frances (Venduro) Hartman. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brothers Dave and Fred Hartman.
Lucia grew up in Albany and graduated from Albany High School in 1971. Following a successful career with the NYS Department of Motor Vehicles, Lucia spent much of her free time with her husband Brian, caring for their four beautiful grandchildren. Lucia’s grandchildren are fortunate to have been blessed with their Gammy’s love and grace, which shines through each of them in so many ways.
Lucia was welcoming, caring, and empathetic. She opened her heart to so many family, friends and those she came to know. Her beauty and radiance was felt by all who came to know her.
Lucia was passionate about baking, cooking and enjoyed watching food shows for inspiration. She found great pleasure hosting wonderful meals and gatherings for her family and friends, especially around the Holidays, where she filled the house with joy. Lucia also found delight in dining out, listening to live music and traveling with her husband and many dear friends who held a special place in her heart.
She leaves behind her loving husband of 41 years: Brian Boyle, Sr., of Colonie; three sons: Daniel Wismont of Colonie, John (Brooke) Wismont of Guilderland, and Brian (Jannina) Boyle, Jr., of Troy; four grandchildren Hailie, Caden, Daniel, and Drew Wismont; as well as many other extended family members; including her dear niece Meredith Hartman and cousin Lisa Alteri with whom she shared a special bond with.
