Lorraine E. Johnson

Lorraine E. Johnson, 83, passed away Tuesday, July 18, 2023 at St. Peter’s Hospital in Albany, NY.

Born on October 27, 1939 in Omaha, NE, she was the daughter of Robert and Beatrice (Chicoine) Thirtle.

Lorraine grew up and was educated in Omaha, NE.

On November 20, 1965, she was united in marriage to Bernard D. Johnson. For the past 49 years, they resided in Stony Point, NY where they raised their family.

Lorraine was a homemaker and enjoyed sewing. In earlier years, she was active in the Boy Scouts serving as a Den Mother and District Council.

Besides her parents, she is pre-deceased by two brothers Donald and Robert Thirtle and a sister Jean Prescott.

She leaves her loving husband of 57 years, Bernard D. Johnson; four children: Sondra Johnson, Melissa (Andrew) Weise, Steven Johnson and grandson Adam Johnson, and David Johnson; a sister Carolyn Thirtle; several nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:00am Saturday, July 22 at the church of St. Paul the Apostle, 2733 Albany Street and Kings Road, Schenectady. Burial will be in Storm Lake, Iowa.
